Federal Judge Shields Catholic Groups from Abortion Rule
Faith Facts
- A federal judge halted enforcement of an EEOC rule requiring Catholic employers to accommodate abortion procedures.
- The new order protects Catholic organizations from complying with policies that conflict with church teachings.
- This protection will last as wider legal challenges proceed in federal courts.
A recent court decision has barred the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission from forcing the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops to accommodate abortion-related procedures in the workplace.
The injunction also stops the EEOC from investigating or penalizing Catholic institutions for acting in accordance with their faith on abortion, surrogacy, or in vitro fertilization.
The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, representing the bishops, argued these mandates conflicted with life-affirming workplace policies rooted in Christian principles.
Judge David Joseph’s ruling replaces a previous, narrower order and offers greater freedom for faith-based employers to follow Biblical teaching without government interference.
Daniel Blomberg of the Becket Fund described the decision as securing formal protection for religious organizations to uphold pro-life convictions in their policies.
“This order memorializes the agreement and gives the plaintiffs formal legal protection,” Blomberg stated.
The legal fight continues, with appeals pending on abortion and related mandates before higher courts.
Religious leaders continue to stand firm that moral beliefs, grounded in Scripture, must not be compromised under federal regulation.
Stand with organizations preserving Christian values, and continue to pray for those defending life and liberty across our nation.

Many Christians Deny Their Own Sinfulness
Faith Facts
- One third of self-identified Christians do not consider themselves sinners.
- Seventy percent of born-again Christians believe people are basically good at heart.
- Few sermons address the topic of sin, leading to widespread confusion.
New research reveals that a significant number of Americans, including many Christians, do not acknowledge their own sinfulness. This disconnect from foundational biblical teachings highlights a concerning trend in the modern church.
Younger generations are even less likely to accept the universal nature of sin than older ones, according to the study from Arizona Christian University.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Dr George Barna, a professor at Arizona Christian University, emphasized that neglecting the doctrine of sin leaves believers confused about truth and salvation. He noted that the lack of clear teaching on sin hinders believers from understanding their need for Christ’s redeeming work.
When churches avoid addressing uncomfortable yet crucial truths, it becomes more difficult to foster genuine faith and understanding. As followers of Christ, we must uphold the biblical message that all have sinned and need a Savior.
Let us renew our commitment to biblical truth and encourage our families and churches to embrace the full message of the Gospel, standing firm in faith and biblical morality.
