Syrian Christians Urge Prayer Amid Ongoing Turmoil
Faith Facts
- Since a militant group replaced Assad’s regime, Christians face uncertainty and enduring strife.
- Recent months have witnessed violence against minorities and the breakdown of a short-lived ceasefire in Aleppo.
- Christian leaders are calling for global prayer and steadfastness, urging believers to trust in God’s providence for Syria’s future.
Syrian Christians and minorities have faced deep uncertainty since a new militant-led government took power after years of war.
Despite assurances of inclusion, violence and unrest have continued to threaten these historic communities.
Multiple violent incidents have erupted across the nation.
A fragile ceasefire between government and Kurds quickly failed, leaving civilians at risk and increasing fear among families.
“There is no dialogue between the Kurds and the governments which makes them fight together as they do not come to any agreement,”
said Sister Annie Demerjian.
She added
“We feel sad because the people are so tired after many, many years of war and conflicts and till now, the situation continues which is unacceptable.”
She urged
“We ask you to pray for the people in Syria, especially the people in Aleppo, those who are experiencing all kinds of fear, those who left their homes, and some who lost dear ones.”
Father Hugo Alaniz cautioned
“It appears that both sides are planning something bigger, according to the amount of bombing and gunfire we are hearing”
and noted
“There’s a lot of army around.”
Patriarch Yazigi encouraged
“We, as Christians in this land, are not asking to be protected. Together with our fellow citizens, we protect and build this land.”
This is a critical time for faith-filled believers everywhere to stand with Syria’s Christians.
Let us pray for peace, endurance, and the preservation of God-given freedoms in this ancient land.

Sudanese Teen Expelled for Faith in Christ
Faith Facts
- An 18-year-old Sudanese refugee was cast out by her family in South Sudan for accepting Christ as her Savior.
- Her family demanded she renounce her new faith or face permanent rejection and loss of her family name.
- Sudan ranks among the most challenging nations for Christians, facing ongoing persecution and societal pressure.
Amona Ibrahim Kaki turned to Jesus after secretly studying a Bible she discovered in her brother’s room.
Her encounter with Christ, coupled with prayer and Christian fellowship, changed her life and led her to declare her faith publicly at a local church.
Upon learning of her conversion, her Muslim family responded with anger, confiscating her phone and threatening her with expulsion if she did not return to Islam.
“This has never happened before in our family – she must leave the house before my arrival or else she will see the consequences.”
Her brother warned, showing the severe cost of choosing Christ in her community.
Despite isolation, threats, and uncertainty, Amona’s experience is a powerful testimony to faith’s transformative power and the courage required to follow Christ in the face of persecution.
In Sudan, Christians are a minority, making up just 2.3 percent of the population, and they often contend with intense social and legal opposition to their religious freedom.
As believers, let us pray for Amona and all Christians facing persecution, and let us stand firmly for religious liberty and the freedom to follow Christ without fear.

Honoring Marshall Keeble’s Enduring Christian Legacy
Faith Facts
- Marshall Keeble traveled tirelessly to preach the Gospel during the era of segregation, facing hardship and discrimination with steadfast faith.
- A new exhibit at Jackson Street Church of Christ in Nashville, Tennessee, honors Keeble’s ministry and perseverance.
- Keeble’s Christ-centered preaching led to tens of thousands of baptisms and hundreds of churches planted, leaving a powerful heritage for generations.
Marshall Keeble’s life stands as a testament to devotion, courage, and the sustaining power of faith, even in times of division. Christians gathered in Nashville to remember his influence and God’s work through him, celebrating faith’s victory over injustice.
“These simple foods tell a powerful story,” a note accompanying the commemorative lunch sack explained. “They reflect the realities of travel during segregation, but they also reveal the quiet strength and preparation that made Brother Keeble’s ministry possible. With nothing more than a paper sack, the word of God, and unwavering faith, he crossed thousands of miles and touched tens of thousands of lives.”
Marshall Keeble’s ministry not only included powerful sermons but also the training and mentoring of many young preachers who went on to serve and lead. Through faith and the example of godly living, Keeble inspired Christians of every background, and his influence extended across racial lines by God’s providence.
“We don’t worship brother Keeble. We worship the God who used brother Keeble. I want to make sure that’s clear, all right?” said guest speaker Edward J. Robinson.
Keeble’s partnerships with both Black and White believers showed the unity possible in Christ despite the barriers of the day. Generations within the Church of Christ continue to benefit from the bold stand and Christian love exemplified through Keeble’s legacy.
His story is a reminder that faith, endurance, and dependence on God yield fruit that endures and gives hope even now. May believers today continue to model such courage and conviction for Christ in every circumstance.
Let us honor those who have shaped our faith heritage by living with similar faithfulness, loving our neighbor, and standing courageously for biblical truth in our communities and nation.
