God's Truth Prevails as Fallen Leaders Spark Biblical Accountability and Hope for Renewal

Faith Facts

  • Pastor Francis Chan apologizes after biblical conviction over careless words and past endorsements of scandal-plagued leaders like Mike Bickle.
  • Church elders affirm Chan’s prior due diligence while prioritizing abuse victim protection above institutional reputations.
  • Scripture calls for exposing sin publicly to safeguard believers from deception in ministry.

Pastor Francis Chan, through his Crazy Love ministry, publicly repented for endorsements that hurt the Body of Christ when leaders fell into immorality, false prophecy, and greed.

Over four decades, he witnessed hundreds of leaders fail, each revelation feeling like a kick in the stomach as hidden sins surfaced.

Each time, it feels like a kick in the stomach, Chan wrote.

Years of immorality are uncovered, false prophesies are exposed, or greed is brought to light.

Chan clarified he no longer endorses unrepentant figures like IHOPKC founder Mike Bickle, whose predatory abuse of minors and others was detailed in a 68-page investigation.

He regrets slow responses rooted in pride or self-preservation, aiming instead to speak with grace.

For the sake of clarity, please know that of course I do not continue to endorse people like Mike Bickle who have been caught in unrepentant immorality, Chan stated.

I know that my endorsements of leaders who have later fallen have added to the hurt and heartbreak experienced by the Body, and for this, I sincerely apologize.

Before partnering, Chan vetted Bickle through his wife, leaders, and pastors, finding consistent praise for his character until 2023 allegations emerged.

We Are Church elders echoed the apology, noting Chan’s influence unintentionally bolstered untrustworthy men while committing to confront abuse boldly.

Friends like Sam Storms also repented after direct victim accounts, confronting Bickle alongside Chan, who refused accountability.

In this age of moral compromise, let us pray fervently for godly discernment, swift repentance, and pure leadership that honors Christ, family values, and eternal truth.

British Comedy Icon Breaks Silence on What Others Won’t Say About Nigerian Christians

Published

Faith Facts

  • British actor and comedian John Cleese publicly condemned the ongoing persecution and slaughter of Christians in Nigeria by Islamic extremists.
  • Cleese suggested the international community is hypocritically ignoring the suffering of Nigerian Christians for political reasons.
  • The statement brings renewed attention to the thousands of Christians who have been killed in Nigeria by radical Islamic groups in recent years.

British comedy legend John Cleese has broken his silence on one of the world’s most underreported humanitarian crises: the systematic slaughter of Christians in Nigeria. In a bold statement, the actor and comedian called attention to what he described as a hypocritical silence from the global community regarding the violent persecution of believers in the African nation.

Cleese, known for his work with Monty Python and decades of comedic brilliance, took a serious turn to address the troubling reality facing Nigerian Christians. He suggested that the world is deliberately turning a blind eye to their suffering for political reasons, raising questions about why such atrocities receive so little international attention.

Nigeria has become one of the most dangerous places in the world to be a Christian. Radical Islamic groups, including Boko Haram and Fulani militants, have been responsible for the deaths of thousands of Christians in recent years. Churches have been burned, entire villages massacred, and women and children abducted or killed in acts of religious violence.

The silence from Western governments and mainstream media outlets has been deafening. While other international crises receive widespread coverage and diplomatic attention, the plight of Nigerian Christians remains largely ignored. Cleese’s willingness to speak out highlights the courage it takes to address uncomfortable truths in today’s political climate.

For years, Christian organizations and human rights groups have been sounding the alarm about the genocide-level violence targeting believers in Nigeria. Yet political correctness and reluctance to address Islamic extremism have kept this crisis out of the spotlight. The question remains: why does the suffering of Christians in Nigeria not warrant the same response as other humanitarian disasters?

Cleese’s statement comes at a critical time when religious freedom is under assault in multiple regions around the world. His willingness to name the problem directly—Islamic violence against Christians—sets him apart from many public figures who choose silence over potential controversy.

The British comedian’s comments serve as a reminder that speaking truth in defense of persecuted believers is not just a political act but a moral imperative. As Christians continue to face violence, displacement, and death in Nigeria, voices like Cleese’s help ensure their suffering is not forgotten.

The international community must decide whether it will continue to ignore the systematic targeting of Christians or finally take meaningful action to protect religious minorities. The time for political expediency at the expense of human lives must come to an end.

Liberal Denomination Confronts Exodus of Financial Support

Published

on

Faith Facts

  • The Presbyterian Church (USA) conducted an internal review examining why members have stopped financial giving to the denomination
  • The mainline liberal denomination has faced ongoing membership and financial challenges in recent years
  • The report represents an acknowledgment of significant donor concerns within the PCUSA

The Presbyterian Church (USA) is grappling with a sobering reality as members increasingly withdraw financial support from the liberal mainline denomination. A recently reviewed report sheds light on the reasons behind this troubling trend for the PCUSA.

The denomination, which has embraced progressive theological positions in recent decades, is now confronting the financial consequences of its direction. The internal examination reveals growing discontent among the faithful who once sustained the church with their tithes and offerings.

This development comes as many mainline Protestant denominations face declining membership and financial instability. The PCUSA has been particularly affected by theological controversies that have divided congregations and driven traditionalist members to seek fellowship elsewhere.

The report’s findings underscore a larger pattern within American Christianity, where believers increasingly direct their giving toward churches and ministries that align with biblical teaching and traditional Christian values. Many faithful Christians have grown concerned about denominations that prioritize social justice activism over gospel proclamation.

Financial giving serves as a barometer of congregational health and member confidence in church leadership. When giving declines, it often signals deeper issues related to trust, theological alignment, and spiritual vitality within the body of believers.

The PCUSA’s willingness to examine this exodus of financial support represents a necessary, if uncomfortable, reckoning with the consequences of its theological trajectory. Whether the denomination will respond with meaningful change or continue its current course remains to be seen.

For conservative Christians, this situation serves as a reminder of the importance of supporting churches and ministries that remain faithful to Scripture and uphold biblical authority. Stewardship involves not just the amount we give, but ensuring our resources advance God’s kingdom purposes.
