Ben Sasse Finds Gospel Hope Amid Trials

Faith Facts

  • Ben Sasse, facing terminal cancer, drew strength and comfort from the Gospel.
  • He shared how his illness clarified his need for Jesus and exposed misplaced priorities.
  • Scripture and the kindness of Christ have encouraged Sasse during deep suffering.

Ben Sasse, 53, reflected on the hope of the Gospel as he battles Stage 4 pancreatic cancer, relying on faith as he faces his mortality.

In a heartfelt interview, Sasse described how this trial has shifted his perspective on what truly matters in life.

He spoke openly about the clarity the illness brought, revealing the futility of self-justification and the sufficiency of Christ’s righteousness.

His suffering highlighted the deep need for a Savior and the emptiness of worldly pursuits.

“We’re all on the clock, but knowing that your death is impending sooner gives you an even greater ability to deny any of our righteous acts as righteous.”

Sasse emphasized how Scripture, from Genesis to Romans, reminds believers of humanity’s sinfulness and Christ’s redeeming work.

He expressed gratitude for the kindness of Jesus, who laid aside His privileges to restore fellowship with His people.

“The foolishness of our works are pretty apparent to you when you try to really look at the accounting of a life. Jesus did everything on the cross to fulfill the whole law. I fulfilled none of it. He fulfilled all of it.”

During the discussion, Michael Horton offered encouragement from passages such as Ephesians 2:6 and 2 Corinthians 4:7-16, reminding that present suffering is overshadowed by the eternal glory promised in Christ.

“The ‘weight of glory’ Paul talks about is so great, it’s not even worth comparing the sufferings of this age and of our lives right now to that weight of glory that will appear in us.”

Sasse shared how his diagnosis and physical pain stripped away the idols he once clung to, teaching him to see temporal things as trivial compared to eternity.

He reflected on the importance of Sabbath rest and the blessing of having God remove distractions that keep one from true faith.

He also encouraged his children to treasure the Lord’s Day and lamented not prioritizing it more, recognizing it as a valuable defense against idolatry.

Even amid affliction, Sasse considered his suffering an opportunity for spiritual growth, drawing closer to Jesus and his family.

Sasse’s story is a testament to the sustaining power of the Gospel when worldly certainties fade.

May his faith inspire us to cling to Christ and trust God’s grace through every trial.

God's Truth Prevails Amidst Growing Pressure on Family Sanctity Challenges

Faith Facts

  • President Trump endorsed bill prohibiting states from enforcing child gender transitions without parental consent.
  • Polls reveal 71% oppose puberty blockers or hormones for minors under 18.
  • 1987 SNL skit ridiculed routine infant gender surgeries as absurd mutilation.

In the 2026 State of the Union, President Trump spotlighted protecting children from radical gender procedures lacking family approval.

This aligns with God’s design in Genesis 1:27, affirming male and female creation.

Trump stated plainly during the address.

“We will protect our children from this radical ideology. No state will be allowed to take kids from loving parents and push them into irreversible procedures.”

Republicans rose in applause, but Democrats stayed seated, prompting Trump’s retort: “These people are crazy.”

Such division echoes Proverbs 22:6, urging parents to train children in godly ways against state interference.

California’s AB 1955 hides school transitions from families, defying majority sentiment.

Rasmussen polls show 58% reject all minor transition procedures, prioritizing innocence.

Once parody on SNL, today’s practices betray biblical family values and patriotic freedoms.

Defend God’s order for children; urge Congress to pass parental rights protections today.

Dark Trends in Religious Family Rights Challenge Believers' Resolve to Stand Firm

Faith Facts

  • Swedish Christian parents separated from daughters for nearly four years after state labeled faith-based rules on makeup and phones as “religious extremism.”
  • Daughter retracted accusations, no abuse found, but girls remain in foster homes despite desiring reunion and facing health issues.
  • European Court of Human Rights dismissed appeal, citing unexhausted Swedish remedies; authorities cited weekly church attendance as extremism evidence.

A Swedish couple’s nightmare continues as government overreach tears their family apart, punishing faithful parenting rooted in Christian values.

Daniel and Bianca Samson can visit their daughters only once monthly under supervision, even after clear investigations.

Swedish social services confirmed the parents’ fitness post-training, yet the state clings to its interference.

“Parents have the primary responsibility and right to raise their children. When the state interferes with family life based on values-based parenting choices or discrimination on the basis of faith, fundamental freedoms are at stake.”

“We deeply regret the court’s decision to reject this case, considering that this family has been torn apart for over three years despite a full investigation that cleared Mr. and Mrs. Samson of any abuse and the fact that the social services certified their capacity and fitness for parenting after they successfully completed an official training.”

“Families should be free to live according to their convictions without fear of losing their children to the state.”
