As each new year begins, many set goals hoping to better themselves, only to face discouragement when they stumble only days later. This common experience reveals our human limits, and as believers, it’s vital to remember that our identity is rooted in Christ, not our streaks of accomplishment.

Instead of measuring success by consistency alone, we are called to draw near to God even after failure. The Christian journey is not about endless self-improvement but about daily surrender and accepting God’s mercy.

Resolutions and discipline are good if they point us toward God, but they are not the source of our salvation. The greatest resolution this year may be to embrace honesty and trust that God desires our hearts, not our perfection.
