Why Does Guilt Linger After God’s Forgiveness
Faith Facts
- God’s forgiveness removes sin completely, yet lingering guilt is a common struggle for many believers
- Scripture teaches that true repentance brings freedom, not continued condemnation
- Believers are called to walk in the assurance of Christ’s finished work on the cross
You asked for forgiveness, and you received it. So why do you keep serving a sentence for something you’ve already been pardoned for?
Many Christians wrestle with this tension. They know the truth of Scripture yet feel weighed down by past failures.
Guilt can persist because the enemy seeks to accuse believers even after repentance. Satan’s goal is to keep God’s children from living in the joy of their salvation.
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
The Apostle Paul reminds us that once we are in Christ, condemnation has no place in our lives. The guilt we feel may stem from our own hearts or from spiritual attack, but it does not come from God.
Embracing the fullness of forgiveness means trusting that Christ’s sacrifice was enough. It means refusing to let feelings override the promises of God’s Word.

Halloween Masks Hide Deeper Truths About Faith and Family
Faith Facts
- Halloween began as a Christian observance rooted in All Hallows’ Eve, honoring the saints and remembering the dead.
- Modern celebrations often emphasize fear, darkness, and death over the hope and light of the Gospel.
- Parents can reclaim the season by teaching children the true meaning of All Saints’ Day and the victory of Christ over evil.
The tragedy of Halloween is not that it asks the wrong questions, but that it gives us the wrong answers.
Our children deserve better. They deserve truth that points them to the light of Christ rather than the shadows of fear and death.
Scripture reminds us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.
Christian parents have a God-given responsibility to guard what their children see and hear, especially during cultural seasons that can blur the line between entertainment and spiritual confusion.

Archaeology bolsters biblical accounts as Dinesh D’Souza highlights evidence
Faith Facts
- Archaeological finds continue to confirm people and places named in Scripture.
- Author and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza connects these discoveries to the Bible’s historical reliability.
- Christian conservatives view such evidence as strengthening faith and countering skepticism.
Dinesh D’Souza says recent archaeological discoveries are giving new weight to the historical claims of Scripture.
He points to artifacts tied to biblical figures as tangible reminders that the Bible records real events.
“Archaeological discoveries can help people better understand the Bible’s historical narrative.”
D’Souza argues that physical evidence linked to Scripture’s accounts challenges critics who dismiss the text as myth.
He believes these finds encourage believers to stand firm on the Bible’s credibility.
“Artifacts associated with figures mentioned in Scripture serve as evidence supporting the accounts.”

Romanians Gather to Honor Legacy of American Evangelist Harvey Starling
Faith Facts
- Harvey Starling dedicated over 30 years to evangelism and church planting in Romania, baptizing believers and establishing seven Churches of Christ across the nation.
- Starling preached more than 1,000 gospel meetings throughout his 71-year ministry before passing away at age 93 on September 10 in Fairhope, Alabama.
- Believers in Romania received the World Changer Award in his honor, carrying forward his guiding principle: “Let us do all the good we can for as many as we can as often as we can, and let us do no harm at all.”
When Harvey Starling preached, buildings trembled. Romanian believers still speak with reverence about the American missionary who gave three decades of his life to evangelism and church planting in their homeland.
Maria Ionela met Starling when she was five years old. Today she serves with the Pitesti Church of Christ and recalls his towering presence and booming voice.
“He was more than just a brother,” Ionela said. “He was like a soldier, a soldier in the kingdom.”
Starling, who stood well over six feet tall, was rarely photographed standing upright. He was usually leaning down to embrace his Romanian brothers and sisters.
Starling passed away at his home in Fairhope, Alabama, on September 10 from complications of Parkinson’s disease. Just weeks later, several Romanians he had baptized gathered at the European Vision Workshop to honor his memory.
Marty Knight, director of the Sunset Academy of Leadership Training, noted that Starling preached more than 1,000 gospel meetings across the United States. He also served congregations in Louisiana and Georgia before beginning his work in Romania in 1991.
During the workshop, Sunset president Tim Burow presented the Romanian Christians with the World Changer Award in Starling’s name. The inscription on the award reads: “He has truly changed the world for Christ.”
