To those driven by fear and anger: your neighbor made in God’s image deserves better than violence, regardless of where they were born. To those who dismiss all immigration concerns as bigotry: real people are suffering real consequences, and love demands we listen.
The solution is not found in secular politics alone, but in the transforming power of the gospel. When Christ changes hearts, He changes how we see others—not as threats or political pawns, but as souls created by God and loved by Him.
South Africa’s crisis is a mirror for the world. In every nation, including our own, Christians face the same challenge: how to live out biblical values in a fallen world where competing goods and complex realities don’t yield to simplistic slogans.
The answer begins with humility before God, obedience to His Word, and courage to speak truth even when it’s unpopular on both sides of a debate. It means rejecting violence while addressing its root causes. It means defending the vulnerable without creating new victims.
This is the hard work of discipleship in a broken world. But it’s precisely the work Christ has called us to do.
