Virginia School Investigation Sparks Privacy and Safety Concerns
In a move that underscores the importance of safeguarding the privacy and dignity of students, Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares has announced an investigation into Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS). This follows reports that the school district allegedly “targeted” three high school boys for expressing discomfort over a girl, who identifies as male, using the boys’ locker room.
Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, a staunch advocate for student rights, emphasized the need for this investigation to ensure “every student’s privacy, dignity, and safety are upheld.”
He stated: “It’s deeply concerning to read reports of yet another incident in Loudoun County schools where members of the opposite sex are violating the privacy of students in locker rooms.”
The governor’s commitment to protecting children in educational settings is a testament to his dedication to upholding traditional values and ensuring that common sense prevails over political correctness.
Miyares echoed this sentiment, pointing out that this case highlights the consequences of school boards ignoring basic principles of safety and privacy.
“The safety, dignity, and privacy of every student in Virginia should be non-negotiable. This is about safety and privacy, not political correctness — and it’s time Loudoun County recognized that,” Miyares affirmed.

Seth Wolfe, the father of one of the boys, expressed his dismay over the situation, stating that his 15-year-old son “is being unfairly targeted for simply asking a basic question that any boy would be asking in that situation.”
Governor Youngkin’s administration has previously issued model policies that prioritize parental rights and ensure that students use facilities corresponding to their biological sex, unless federal law dictates otherwise.
“Parental rights are not negotiable,” Youngkin declared, reinforcing the critical role parents play in guiding their children’s education and moral upbringing.
Despite LCPS’s denial of any investigation against the boys, the situation has cast a spotlight on the district’s policies.
An LCPS spokesperson maintained that the district would not discipline students for expressing their beliefs unless they violated the Student Rights & Responsibilities Handbook.
“We reject any characterization that implies our schools are unsafe or that we fail to protect the rights of all students,” the spokesperson stated.
This incident is not the first time LCPS has faced scrutiny. The district previously attracted significant attention in 2021 over allegations of concealing sexual assaults to avoid controversy surrounding its trans-affirming policies.
