Faith Facts
- NDOPW launches a nation-wide prayer initiative for January–February 2026.
- Daily virtual prayer and community gatherings encourage unity among believers.
- NDOPW’s Shine Your Light campaign brings faith into public spaces during Christmas.
At the dawn of 2026, churches across the UK are urged to come together in prayer for spiritual renewal and national unity. The National Day of Prayer and Worship (NDOPW) is inviting believers to participate in a dedicated month-long vigil, seeking God’s guidance and revitalization for the nation.
The vigil will run from January 5th to February 5th, featuring daily online gatherings, local community meetings, and coordinated intercession. These efforts aim to break down denominational barriers and strengthen bonds among Christians, reflecting a biblical call to stand together in faith.
NDOPW’s ongoing work since 2006 includes digital prayer rooms, daily virtual sessions, and broad partnerships with churches nationwide, reflecting a growing movement grounded in prayer and fellowship. The anticipated New Year vigil will build upon the success of the Shine Your Light campaign, which encourages congregations to boldly share the message of Christ through public worship during the Christmas season.
“This month-long vigil is an invitation to seek God together for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit in 2026 and, to continue to break down denominational barriers as Christians from different churches gather together locally to pray for their communities, the nation and what God is doing across the globe,” said NDOPW founder and convener Pastor Jonathan Oloyede.
Support for these prayer movements continues to expand, with increasing numbers of churches and believers answering the call. Pastor Oloyede emphasizes the importance of deepening prayer for transformation in homes, communities, and the halls of government, anchored in unwavering faith and hope.
Join fellow believers this New Year as we seek God’s direction and stand united in prayer for the future of our nation.
