Mayor Brett Smiley confirmed more than 400 law enforcement officers are currently focused on restoring safety and finding the suspect, described as a man in dark clothing who escaped on foot.
The entire Brown campus and nearby neighborhoods remain under lockdown, with shelter-in-place advisories impacting students, staff, and residents.
University leaders affirmed that both deceased were students and that the wounded are all reportedly in stable condition at local hospitals.
