Texas state Rep. James Talarico, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, is under fire for his controversial approach to Christian theology and radical policy proposals. The candidate has repeatedly referred to Jesus Christ as a barefoot rabbi and previously advocated for the federal government to lease land specifically for abortion providers.

During a 2022 address, Talarico called for aggressive political action against conservatives while demanding the federal government declare a public health emergency to bypass state protections for the unborn. His campaign continues to use rhetoric about flipping tables of injustice to justify a progressive social agenda that conflicts with traditional biblical values.

Donald Trump recently criticized Talarico for his views on gender, specifically mentioning a 2021 statement where the candidate claimed God is both masculine and feminine. Trump described these theological claims as an insult to Jesus and labeled the Senate hopeful as being beyond woke.
