  • Christian conservatives and other voices warned early about the dangers of gender ideology, as highlighted by Brandon Showalter on the “Generation Indoctrination” podcast.
  • Personal testimonies reveal deep trauma and loss for families affected by radical gender policies, including a mother who fought tirelessly for her son’s welfare.
  • Experts urge a biblical reevaluation of psychiatric practices and emphasize truth, courage, and the importance of standing up for children.

Brandon Showalter’s latest podcast episode reflects on the journey of those confronting the spread and consequences of gender ideology through a biblical lens.

He recalls attending the 2017 Heritage Foundation panel, “Biology Is Not Bigotry,” where diverse voices, including Christian conservatives, issued warnings about redefining human identity.

“Mere months after I started as a journalist in 2016, I began to see how language was shifting in the mainstream news media,” he said. “When I left that panel, I thought my head would spin off my body.”

The episode features stories like that of Kaylee Triller Harms, who lost her YMCA job for standing by her convictions, and Miriam Ben-Shalom, who faced swift backlash after speaking against harmful gender policies.

“I didn’t know, but I sure got educated really quickly,” Ben-Shalom recounted. “I really don’t give a darn what people think of me, if my legacy depends on having to affirm a mental illness.”

Kaylee Triller Harms described witnessing medical practices done to children as shocking. “For me, it was like descending into multiple layers of Dante’s Inferno,” she said. “When I saw a phalloplasty arm … I couldn’t comprehend that degree of wickedness.”

One mother, Helen, fought for years to protect her son from being pressured into a false identity by others.

“I feel very grateful, but very sort of like there’s so many people that didn’t have my luck and didn’t have my resources,” Helen shared. “Sometimes I feel like I should be doing more to help somebody else get through this.”

The long battle leaves a mark. “My whole worry can be summed up as, is my son going to be OK?” Helen added.

Christian professionals like Jennifer Balance call for returning to a God-honoring understanding of identity in counseling and medicine.

“We are seeing the breaking of the stronghold of this ideology over the hearts and minds of Americans,” Balance declared.

She pressed for discernment in language and practice. Balance said, “If you’ve never transitioned, really, because you physiologically cannot transition, then how can you detransition? You’re just simply coming back to your true identity.”

Triller Harms and Ben-Shalom reminded listeners of the obligation to speak out for justice.

“It is not a kindness to stay silent about this,” Triller Harms insisted. “People need to learn to care about things, even if they aren’t personally affected by it.”

Ben-Shalom believes exposing the stark reality of medical interventions highlights the need for truth. “A picture sometimes can be worth 1,000 words,” she said.

Families and believers must remain steadfast in faith and truth, supporting those harmed and defending God’s design for humanity.
