Stand Firm: On the Lord’s Side Always
Faith Facts
- Christians are called to rise above worldly divisions and follow Christ’s call to unity.
- Prayer and reconciliation are vital responses in times of growing social and political polarization.
- Jesus commands us to resist hatred, affirm every person’s dignity, and be peacemakers in our communities.
As our society faces increasing polarization over issues like immigration and national unity, believers must refuse to be drawn into divisive sides.
Scripture reminds us that, rather than aligning with earthly factions, we are to identify fully with God’s truth and guidance.
In Joshua 5:13-14, the commander of the Lord’s army declares
“Neither; but as commander of the army of the LORD I have now come.”
We are called as Christians to a higher allegiance—not to political movements or societal pressures, but to the Lord’s kingdom and His calling for reconciliation.
In every community, we are mandated to pray for all people, even those whose actions or beliefs differ from our own, seeking peace that only Christ can provide.
“Pray for everyone, including those who are putting up flags or going on marches.”
A faithful response involves listening empathetically, affirming the value of each individual made in God’s image, and standing up against all forms of hatred and violence.
Walking in Jesus’s footsteps means loving sacrificially, bridging divides, and bringing hope where there seems to be only discord.
“We are on the Lord’s side. So we reconcile.”
Our mission remains to declare Jesus Christ boldly, providing answers rooted in faith and offering healing for broken relationships.
In these turbulent times, let us show the world a different path, standing united on the Lord’s side and championing true Christian love and freedom.
Stay steadfast in prayer, be agents of reconciliation,
and shine the light of Christ as courageous witnesses in today’s divided world.
