Churches across the United Kingdom are uniting for the Shine Your Light campaign, seeking to reach two million people during the Christmas season. Faithful believers are carrying the message of Christ’s love into communities, high streets, marketplaces, and even sports grounds.
Numerous churches and networks are participating, forming partnerships for worship, evangelism, and acts of service that reflect Christ’s teachings. The campaign also broadcasts special services into British prisons and shelters, sharing the Gospel with those in need of hope and redemption.
Pastor Jonathan Oloyede, founder of Shine Your Light, said,
“Shine Your Light this weekend is fuelled by 72 hours of continuous prayer across the four nations, as believers from many churches and networks unite with one heart.”
He added,
“Though we come from different denominations and streams, we are one in Christ, serving our communities with His love. Everyone is welcome because Jesus came for all and gave His life for all.”
Pastor Oloyede emphasized the importance of prayer and unity, believing that the Holy Spirit is moving throughout the nation this season. Christian leaders, including those from the Evangelical Alliance, are actively supporting the effort and encouraging believers everywhere to share their faith boldly.
Gavin Calver, CEO of the Evangelical Alliance, said,
“It was such a joy to preach at a town wide carol service in Warrington on Wednesday evening, at the rugby league stadium. An amazing privilege to share the gospel in this environment and it’s always wonderful when churches work together so powerfully.”
As this movement points hearts back to Christ, it embodies the Christian call to bring light to the world and stand together for faith, family, and freedom under God.
