The storm, one of the strongest ever recorded in the region, left neighborhoods in darkness and many without clean water or food. Relief efforts were initially hindered, but the reopening of Kingston’s airport has allowed critical supplies to arrive for families in crisis.
Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan’s Purse, said,
