The ReMission conference in Little Rock began as a small gathering of faithful ministers, soon drawing nearly 600 participants determined to renew a passion for bringing people to Christ. Attendees from across 23 states joined to seek God’s guidance in restoring the church’s primary mission: winning souls for His kingdom.
“There’s something that happens when people get on the same page,” said Tiffany Malone, a member of the ReMission vision team. “You can begin to see the seeds of that … forming as God is doing something really, really amazing.”
Leaders acknowledged past tendencies toward legalism but testified to the grace of Jesus and the unity fostered by gathering around God’s truth instead of division. Church ministers emphasized the importance of returning to the core mission of sharing the Gospel and making disciples above all else.
“We moved from ‘We’re the only ones going to heaven’ to ‘No one’s going to hell.’ When we made that move, we lost our mission,” declared Rick Atchley, urging believers to reclaim evangelistic fervor.
Participants from a range of congregations—traditional and contemporary alike—celebrated their heritage but also called for an end to distractions from the Great Commission. Joyful corporate worship and honest conversations fostered deeper resolve to glorify Christ and reach the lost for His glory.
Christian families and churches are called to set aside worldly disputes and devote themselves fully to God’s timeless call: making disciples in His name. Let’s remain steadfast in faith, guided by God’s Word, and labor together for the harvest.
