Podcast Explores Spiritual Warfare in Modern Churches
In a world where many churches hesitate to confront the realities of spiritual warfare and the occult, actress Jen Lilley and journalist Billy Hallowell are stepping boldly into the fray. Their new podcast, “Into the Supernatural,” is a clarion call to the faithful, urging believers to recognize and address the spiritual battles that are often ignored in modern church discourse.
Lilley and Hallowell recently joined Jenn Nizza, a former psychic turned Christian apologist, for a candid discussion about the infiltration of New Age practices into churches and the importance of spiritual discernment. The episode was a powerful reminder of the need for churches to equip their congregations with biblical truth and compassion.
Lilley, known for her work in film and television, shared how the podcast was born out of a deep desire to discuss the Holy Spirit and the works of God. “I prayed about it and said, ‘If you ever want to do a podcast about the supernatural, that is something I could devote all of my time to,’” she recalled. Her passion for the topic is evident, as she seeks to illuminate the often-overlooked aspects of spiritual life.
Hallowell, whose previous podcast delved into spiritual battles, echoed this sentiment. He admitted to feeling convicted about his past reluctance to engage with these topics, realizing the disservice it was to himself and others. “I went through most of my life without ever hearing about spiritual warfare in church. That’s a disservice,” he stated, highlighting the urgent need for these discussions within the church community.
The podcast aims not only to spark curiosity but to equip believers with truth and compassion. Lilley shared how Nizza’s testimony softened her perspective on those entangled in the occult, moving her from a posture of righteous indignation to one of empathy. “Thank you for giving me compassion in this area. That was the one area I haven’t had compassion,” Lilley told Nizza, illustrating the transformative power of testimonies.
Nizza emphasized the importance of discernment and love in these conversations. “Hearing other people’s stories is giving you new compassion, and it’s also educating the Church about things that are creeping in, like angel numbers, card readings, and near-death experiences,” she noted.
The episode also tackled controversial topics such as near-death experiences and spiritual deception in prosperity gospel circles. Nizza warned of teachings that prey on vulnerable believers, stressing the need for biblically sound conversations. “We need to hear biblically sound conversations about this,” she said. “Otherwise, people get confused, afraid to even pray for healing, thinking they just don’t have enough faith. These are lies of the enemy.”
Lilley and Hallowell are committed to exploring these hard-hitting topics further, with guests ranging from former occultists to healing ministers. “I love being able to ask people the weird questions no one else will,” Lilley said with a laugh, underscoring the podcast’s unique approach to uncovering spiritual truths.
Ultimately, the hosts hope their work will lead people back to Scripture, deepen their understanding of spiritual realities, and encourage unity within the Body of Christ. As Nizza aptly put it, “This isn’t a substitution for church. It’s a supplement. And it’s so needed.” In a time when traditional values are under siege, “Into the Supernatural” stands as a beacon of faith, family, and freedom, reminding us all of the power of God’s truth in an ever-changing world.

“The Chhattisgarh government’s calculated silence speaks volumes,” said John Dayal.
“This is not just about dignity in death; it’s about whether tribal Christians belong to their own villages.”
