At the World Evangelical Alliance’s General Assembly, Pastor Stephen Tong boldly addressed the need for holiness among pastors. He urged Christian leaders to flee hypocrisy and stand firm in integrity, following Christ’s example to honor God with pure hearts.

“Shame on this kind of servant of God,” he said.

Tong called for believers to focus on the Kingdom of God over politics, sharing that Christ’s central message was the call to repentance. He urged pastors to preach the Scripture faithfully and reject teachings centered on worldly philosophies.

“If you want to be a servant of God, you promise to God to lead a holy life,” the 85-year-old declared.

He warned against placing national agendas above God’s Kingdom and reminded the assembly that only a servant of God living in holiness can truly bear witness to the holy God.

Tong concluded by praying over church leaders, asking God to purify their hearts as they serve around the world.
