Pakistani Christians Demand Right to Elect Representatives
Faith Facts
- Punjab’s new Local Government Act limits direct elections for minority-reserved seats.
- Christian leaders argue this violates constitutional rights and weakens minority representation.
- Faith-based groups petition the Lahore High Court for electoral reform.
Christians in Punjab, Pakistan, are raising their voices against a new law that restricts religious minorities from directly electing their own representatives in local government.
This law replaces direct elections for reserved seats with a party-selection process, igniting concerns about the erosion of democratic participation and Biblical justice.
“The right to elect one’s own representatives is fundamental to meaningful participation,” said Samson Salamat, chairman of Rwadari Tehreek (Movement for Equality).
He emphasized the danger of weakening the role of religious minorities, women, and laborers in government, stating that only genuine participation upholds justice.
Katherine Sapna, executive director of Christians True Spirit, appealed to the protections granted in Pakistan’s constitution, stressing the need for genuine authority and accountability in local government.
“Instead of reforming the law, the Punjab government has repeated the injustice and deprived Christians and other minorities of electing their own representatives even at the local government level,” she said.
Faith-based organizations and advocates have filed a petition in the Lahore High Court, seeking amendments to restore the right to direct elections for reserved seats.
The call for reform is a plea for justice and equality, echoing Biblical values of integrity and stewardship for all people.

Viral Texas Prayer Video Sparks Faith Debate
Faith Facts
- A viral video showed an unidentified man praying over Muslim teens as they prayed outside a coffee shop in Murphy, Texas.
- The Texas chapter of CAIR urged law enforcement to investigate the incident as a possible hate crime and religious harassment.
- The event follows recent legislative efforts in Texas to limit foreign nationals observing Sharia law from residing in the U.S.
Christian values call for treating every neighbor with dignity, regardless of their background, and respecting each person’s right to worship freely. This incident challenges believers to reflect the love and truth of Christ in public, while engaging with culture through a biblical perspective.
“No young person should be harassed, mocked or targeted with bigotry simply for practicing their faith,” stated Mustafaa Carroll of CAIR-Texas.
As Christians, we are reminded to engage culture with both conviction and compassion, upholding our freedoms while seeking peace and understanding with others.

Gaza’s Christians Stand Firm Amid Trials
Faith Facts
- Gaza’s Christian community numbers around 1,000 believers enduring great hardship.
- Many have sheltered for two years in churches struck by attacks, facing loss and uncertainty.
- Believers like Elias al-Jalda remain committed to their faith and the land where Christianity began.
As Gaza’s ceasefire remains fragile, Christians in the region must make difficult decisions about staying rooted in their homeland or fleeing for safety. Many have lost homes and live together in church shelters, enduring trials with courage and unity.
Even as violence damages sacred places and infrastructure, Christian families like Elias’s draw strength from their faith and from fellowship with one another. Their commitment reflects a powerful testament to perseverance where Christ Himself once walked.
“We forgot what normal life looks like,” Elias shared on SAT-7 ARABIC. “For two years, there’s no gas, no fuel for electricity. Water and food are hard to come by.”
Despite loss and a shrinking population, these believers cling to hope that the Gospel’s light will never be extinguished in its birthplace. Their unwavering dedication to faith, family, and heritage furthers the powerful witness of the Christian spirit.
“I am committed to remaining, living on the land on which I was born, and on the land of Jesus Christ.”
Let us pray for the steadfast Christians of Gaza, and stand with them as they face these choices with faith, trusting that God’s providence will lead and sustain them in the land of their forefathers.

Small Actions, Big Impact: Lessons from Abraham
Faith Facts
- Abraham welcomed strangers despite personal pain, living out hospitality and faith.
- In Hebrew scripture, even a dot or jot holds deep meaning, guiding generations through God’s covenant.
- History reminds us how tiny markers, like dots on maps, can be used for both good and evil.
A single dot may seem unimportant, yet in God’s word, even the smallest mark can carry great significance and shape destinies. Abraham’s story shows how faithfulness to God and service to others can bless generations, especially when hospitality triumphs over hardship.
Remembrance Sunday and Kristallnacht coinciding serve as a sober reminder of the consequences when societies fail to protect the innocent and neglect biblical values. The difference between using ‘dots’ to mark blessings or to harm others reflects the moral choices every nation faces.
As it takes only ten righteous to change a city, so too can a handful of faithful people impact their communities for good or for evil. Each action and small gesture matters when seen through God’s bigger picture.
“And the Lord appeared to him [Abraham] by the terebinth trees of Mamre, as he sat at the tent opening in the heat of the day.”
Even in a world where antisemitism and hatred persist, believers are called to choose the path of righteousness, championing service, kindness, and unity as Abraham did.
Let’s be the ones who connect the dots of faith, seeing every opportunity to share God’s love and protect the vulnerable as a sacred trust for our families, our nation, and the future.
