Lilly Endowment Grants Boost Christian Leadership
Faith Facts
- Lilly Endowment awarded $649 million in grants to 93 religious groups to support future pastoral leadership and Christian storytelling.
- Just over $416 million funded 45 seminaries in the U.S. and Canada, with some receiving up to $10 million each.
- The National Storytelling Initiative received $232 million to help share inspiring accounts of Christians living out their faith in action.
The Lilly Endowment, America’s largest private foundation, has directed significant resources to elevate the next generation of Christian pastors and leaders.
This initiative reflects a strong commitment to strengthening ministry and proclaiming authentic stories of faith and service.
“Theological schools play a vital role in preparing and supporting pastoral leaders for Christian congregations,” Christopher L. Coble, the foundation’s vice president for religion, said in a press statement last week.
Through these generous grants, seminaries and faith organizations can work together to advance the spiritual health and moral character of communities across the nation.
Join us in praying that these efforts will honor God and strengthen the roots of faith, family, and freedom in our society.
