  • Liberty University now offers 600 online degrees to European students, rooted in biblical values.
  • The university aims to counter the spread of secularism in Europe by promoting Christ-centered higher education.
  • Plans are being considered for a future physical campus, supporting families seeking safe, faith-filled learning.

Liberty University, an evangelical Christian institution from Virginia, has launched 600 online faith-based degree programs for European students. This initiative seeks to offer young people academic preparation and spiritual grounding as they pursue diverse careers.

The project is led in Europe by marketing expert Lucian Mustata, whose passion for Christian education stems from personal conviction, not financial interest. He underscores the importance of Christian schools in shaping character and providing safe environments, noting that even non-believing parents value this sense of safety for their children.

“Europe is growing very heavily in secularism, and technology very heavily impacts the next generation. We face a challenge: we have a shortage of education with Christian content-based faith.”

Many European universities focus only on secular job training or limit faith-based study to theology, leaving a gap for students desiring both academic excellence and Christian teaching. Mustata highlighted that Christian schools in Romania consistently outperform their non-faith counterparts academically, and that many families are searching for substance and safety in their children’s education.

Mustata’s conversations with Liberty University leadership, inspired by his ministry experience and friendship with Liberty President Dr. Dondi Costin, led to this partnership. He emphasized Liberty’s desire to invest in young Europeans through faith-rooted learning opportunities at all academic levels.

“We would like to give the opportunity to European Christians,” Mustata said, highlighting Liberty’s world-class resources and their strategic, prayerful approach to expansion.

Currently, Liberty is offering its growing online presence and accredited degrees to Europe, while monitoring opportunities for a future campus. This offers families flexibility—whether online or in-person—for a Christian education that encourages virtue, freedom, and lasting impact.

Mustata sees marketing Liberty’s programs among Romania’s large evangelical community as a first step, opening a moral path for families across Europe to pursue disciplined, purposeful living under Christ’s guidance.
