Kaylub Giamanco acted quickly when a teenage gunman opened fire inside Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon. He heard the desperate cries of children calling out for their lives.
Giamanco later reflected on the tragedy and said he wishes he could have stopped the violence sooner. The gunman killed three children and a teacher before the father intervened.
“I heard the children pleading for their lives,” Giamanco stated.
