“The Trillion Peso March, held at the People Power Monument, was nothing short of a miracle — a profound work of Divine Providence,” said Most Rev. Jose Colin Bagaforo, lead convenor of the Church Leaders Council for National Transformation (CLCNT).
Participants from more than 83 civil society groups, along with schools and churches, joined in the peaceful rally. Organizers expressed gratitude for the support of donors, volunteers, and security forces who helped ensure a safe and orderly gathering.
“This miracle has only just begun,” Bagaforo said.
“It inspires us through the tears, songs and fervent prayers of those who cried out for justice.”
“It kindles a moral fire in our hearts to eradicate corruption once and for all.”
“The battle against this despicable evil of corruption shall continue.”
The coalition of faith groups and Filipinos from all walks of life called for transparency and an end to systemic graft in flood control spending. The gathering demonstrated that a faith-driven movement can unite citizens in the pursuit of the common good.
Church leaders affirmed their commitment to walking with the people in the ongoing struggle for clean governance, reflecting Christ’s teaching to shepherd and care for His flock.
“We extend our deepest thanks to our generous donors, those who ensured our security, the brave souls who shared powerful testimonies and speeches, the different government agencies, the performers and the tireless members of our various committees,” Bagaforo said.
The involvement of young people and parish communities signaled hope for continued reform and vigilance.
Organizers pledged to keep advocating for truth, transparency, and biblical justice within national institutions.
