Faith Confronts Rising Darkness in Nigerian Christian Strongholds

On Palm Sunday, a sacred day of peace, a predominantly Christian neighborhood in Jos, Nigeria, was transformed into a site of unimaginable horror by ruthless gunmen.

Assailants disguised in military fatigues descended upon the Angwan Rukuba area at night, indiscriminately opening fire on men, women, and children.

This barbaric act of violence has left at least 28 people dead and dozens more wounded as the community mourns their stolen futures.

Local authorities have imposed a 48-hour curfew in Jos North, while security forces search the surrounding bushes for those responsible for this cold-hearted attack.

“Armed gunmen invaded the area at about 8 p.m. and shot indiscriminately at anyone they sighted,”

The tragedy reflects the escalating persecution against believers in Nigeria, which now accounts for over 70 percent of all Christians killed for their faith globally.

Radicalized militants continue to target Christian farming communities, seeking to seize land and impose an Islamic agenda through terror and bloodshed.

“There is no pain greater than a mother holding a child whose life has been taken too soon,”
