Evangelical Churches Unite for Faith, Family, Freedom
Faith Facts
- The Latin Evangelical Alliance (AEL) concluded its 12th General Assembly in Cartagena, rallying Ibero-American evangelical churches to defend religious freedom, family, and the right to life.
- The “Cartagena Declaration” highlights over a century of evangelical engagement in education, healthcare, and preserving indigenous languages, while calling believers to be a light in society.
- AEL leadership was renewed, with board members pledging to elevate Christian influence and leadership in Ibero-America for the 2025–2027 term.
Ibero-American evangelical churches gathered in Cartagena to reaffirm their commitment to Christian values and to expand their positive impact on public life.
Under the message of unity, they emphasized faith-based solutions for social challenges and pledged to stand firm for the sanctity of life, family, and religious liberty.
“We firmly believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ continues to be good news for every person, every family, and every city. We renew our mission to be light in the midst of spiritual darkness, salt to prevent decay, and outstretched hands in times of pain.”
The Cartagena Declaration urges believers to discern the times with faith and to courageously promote truth and hope in every sphere of influence.
“Let this declaration not only be read, but lived.”
AEL’s renewed board promises to strengthen Christian leadership and ensure that evangelical voices are heard in public and international arenas, always guided by biblical truth and the promise: “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of Hosts.”
Let us pray for continued unity and strength among Ibero-American churches as they shine the light of Christ and champion our Christian values in the nations.
