  • Two generations of Evangelicals served, worshipped, and evangelized together, bridging past divides.
  • The festival emphasized bold gospel proclamation, unity, and the role of churches in healing historic wounds.

Christians from six countries once marked by conflict joined together in Šibenik, Croatia, for the Srcokret festival, highlighting a new era of unity guided by faith and fellowship.

This gathering showed believers from Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Slovenia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Croatia pursuing peace, collaborative ministry, and mutual encouragement rooted in the Gospel.

“The generation of mothers and fathers served the generation of sons and daughters, worshipped together and evangelised together,” shared Jasmin Avdagić, national coordinator for STEP and director of Srcokret.

The event featured programs translated into five languages and participation from various church denominations, reflecting a diverse and missional church body determined to stand as one in Christ.

Amidst rising nationalist rhetoric and lingering memories of conflict, churches are embracing their responsibility to promote peace and pray for unity, resisting divisive cultural trends with steadfast biblical conviction.

“We have to be sober and alert and prayerfully watch over our nations,” urged Avdagić, encouraging Christians to proclaim peace and common values rather than return to past discord.

This moment stands as a testament to the power of faith in bridging divides and building a future rooted in love and biblical truth.

Let us continue to pray for lasting reconciliation and a flourishing Kingdom culture in the Balkans, trusting God to raise up new leaders and inspire hope in every generation.
