  • Ethics complaints filed against NJ AG Matthew Platkin and counsel Sundeep Iyer for probing pro-life centers without complaints.
  • During Supreme Court arguments in First Choice v. Platkin, Iyer admitted no specific complaints against the faith-based network.
  • Action invokes First Amendment protections, citing unconstitutional donor disclosures ruled against in AFPF v. Bonta.

The Center to Advance Security in America submitted complaints to New Jersey and New York ethics offices over the AG’s investigation of pregnancy care centers upholding Christian values of life and family.

This stems from demands for donor lists under threat of penalties, lacking any basis in public complaints or evidence of wrongdoing.

Justice Clarence Thomas questioned the probe during oral arguments last December.

“We haven’t had complaints about this specific crisis pregnancy center,” Iyer conceded, yet defended proactive scrutiny.

CASA charges violations of professional conduct rules by targeting faith-driven nonprofits without cause.

“Platkin and Iyer decided to investigate a pregnancy care center for no apparent reason other than a general suspicion,” one complaint states.

Curtis Schube of CASA emphasized accountability for attorneys wielding government power against pro-life donors.

“It’s our First Amendment right to be able to donate to places like this,” Schube affirmed.

Supreme Court ruling expected soon; prior precedents affirm donor privacy as essential to religious liberty.

Defend biblical truths on life and liberty—support pro-life ministries and hold officials accountable to God’s justice and constitutional oaths.
