  • Three leaders of an unregistered Christian church in Xi’an, China, have been arrested and detained by authorities on fraud charges.
  • The church, known as Church of Abundance, was officially banned in 2022, and its pastors previously faced similar legal action and alleged mistreatment.
  • The ongoing crackdown reflects China’s efforts to bring independent churches under state control and restrict religious freedom.

A renewed wave of arrests against faithful Christian leaders in China has underscored the nation’s ongoing hostility toward believers who refuse to compromise their faith for state-approved religion. The Church of Abundance, a beacon for unregistered believers, is once again suffering under harsh anti-Christian policies.

Pastors Lian Xuliang, Lian Changnian, and Fu Juan were detained after being accused of fraud, echoing previous unjustified charges levied against them for simply practicing and nurturing their faith community.

“His eyes were bloodshot, and there was dried blood in the corner of his eyes,” said Pastor Lian’s wife about the abuse her husband suffered at the hands of police.

This pattern of intimidation and violence is being used to silence biblically faithful congregations standing firm for true worship, reminding us of the need to uphold our brothers and sisters in prayer and action.

As American patriots and people of faith, let us not be silent about these injustices—standing firm in solidarity with those who cherish the freedom to gather and worship according to conscience.
