Former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams recently admitted he is uncertain if the global Anglican Communion will survive.

He pointed toward deep-seated divisions over theological issues as the primary threat to traditional unity.

The appointment of Sarah Mullally, who supports same-sex blessings and female ordination, has accelerated these tensions.

Conservative leaders from the Global Anglican Futures Conference (GAFCON) have already rejected the spiritual authority of the office.

“I don’t know whether the Communion will survive,” Williams stated.

He noted the job is increasingly difficult due to contentious moral debates.

As the Church of England drifts from historical biblical teachings, it risks alienating the faithful who hold to the unchanging Word of God over temporary cultural shifts.

True unity is found only when believers stand firm on the foundation of Scripture and the lordship of Jesus Christ.
