Albanian Church Brings Hope to Roma Community
Faith Facts
- Skanderbeg’s historic Christian defense against the Ottomans is celebrated in Fushë Krujë, Albania.
- The Church of Christ in Tirana actively serves Roma families, offering tutoring, Bible lessons, and Sunday worship.
- Mission 567, inspired by 1 Peter 5:6-7, expresses faith-driven compassion to those often overlooked by society.
On a mountain in Albania, faith and legacy meet as Skanderbeg’s heroic stand for Christianity continues to inspire the nation.
Today, the Church of Christ embraces biblical values by ministering to the Roma—a people marginalized for generations.
“Many nongovernmental agencies have tried to assist them, but their problems, unfortunately, are structural problems (that) require more than just raising awareness.”
Bledi Valca, a dedicated minister from Tirana, travels regularly to Fushë Krujë to offer hope where few others do, partnering with faithful servant Lisa Foreman for outreach efforts.
Mission 567, named after a passage encouraging humility and trust in God’s care, brings practical support alongside spiritual nourishment, living out gospel principles in action.
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
The love of Christ reaches across cultures, as volunteers from around the world, including Yves Bilong from Cameroon, join to help Roma children learn, worship, and experience Christian fellowship.
“I know that this might not be the easiest population to reach, and this actually motivated me more.”
Through songs of praise in Albanian and simple acts of kindness, hearts are opened and faith is renewed—reminding all that God cares for every soul.
Faith compels us to love, serve, and stand for the forgotten, echoing Christ’s call to cast our anxieties on Him and care for our neighbors.
Stand with ministries making a difference. Pray for the Roma in Albania and for those sharing hope across continents, rooted in Christian conviction.

“The attack tragically led to the killing of Rev. Joshua Ajiya, a pastor of the ERCC Church congregation in Dorowa community.”
“May God comfort the affected families and continue to protect our communities during this difficult time,” resident Thomas Hassan said.
“They adopt a comparable strategy to Boko Haram and ISWAP and demonstrate a clear intent to target Christians and potent symbols of Christian identity,” a UK report states.
These jihadist assaults echo Biblical persecution, urging believers to remember those suffering as bound with them (Hebrews 13:3); pray fervently for Nigerian saints defending faith amid terror.

- Christian leaders praise the decision as affirming life’s sacred value from God.
- MSPs urged to prioritize palliative care over death for the vulnerable.
The Scottish Parliament has rejected a bill to legalize assisted suicide in a historic vote, upholding the sanctity of life.
This outcome protects the vulnerable from coercion and safeguards true compassion rooted in Christian values.
Simon Calvert of The Christian Institute said: “We thank God that MSPs got the message that they simply could not pass this wretched bill.”
“I think the lesson for Holyrood – and for Westminster too – is that there is no such thing as a ‘safe’ assisted suicide bill.”
Rev. Alasdair Macleod of the Free Church stated: “This decision affirms that every human life is precious and worthy of protection.”
“As Christians we believe that human life is a gift from God, and that our calling as a society is to care for one another, especially in times of weakness.”
Bishop John Keenan affirmed: “Every human life possesses inherent value.
Genuine compassion is not expressed through ending a life, but through accompanying those who suffer.”
Praise God for Scotland’s stand for life, family, and freedom—now let’s champion world-class palliative care to honor the suffering with Christ’s love.
