Africa Accelerates as Bible App Powerhouse
YouVersion launched its Kenya hub on February 23 to deliver localized content for its app, exceeding 1 billion downloads worldwide.
CEO Bobby Gruenewald emphasized serving God’s longstanding work in Africa, where Christianity has thrived for 2,000 years under African leadership.

“We’re actually not here tonight to start something. We’re really here to serve something that God has already been doing,” Gruenewald declared in Nairobi.
“Some people have predicted that Africa would become the center of global Christianity. From what we’re seeing, I think it already is,” he added.
Kenya’s First Lady Rachael Ruto hailed the hub for delivering hope to families and youth through swift Scripture access.
“As a wife, a mother and a leader, I understand the importance of faith in strengthening families,” she stated.
