Christian Film Counters Youth Gangs in Barbados

Published

Faith Facts

  • Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is using film ministry in Barbados to address youth violence.
  • The movie “Go Africa: Skyboy and the Woman of Honor” connects Barbadian youth to testimonies of transformation from Nigeria.
  • Christian leaders highlight the urgent need for moral guidance and spiritual foundation among the nation’s young people.

YWAM recently screened a faith-based film at the island’s only drive-in theatre, seeking to steer local youth away from gang culture by sharing redemptive stories rooted in Christian truth.

The film’s message encourages youth to reject violence and embrace their God-given purpose found in Christ, reflecting the importance of faith for rebuilding lives.

Jack MacCall, YWAM’s Barbados leader, explained that the film was chosen to encourage young people toward hope and away from paths of destruction.

“Seeing the youth of Barbados get involved in violence and killing one another is something that breaks my heart personally,” MacCall told the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation.

He further expressed his commitment to protecting the next generation through Christ-centered outreach.

“Now that I am a father to a two-year-old, I want to do everything I can to ensure he — and all our children — have a better future than that,” he said.

The movie, directed by David L. Cunningham and inspired by YWAM’s real ministry work in Nigeria, shares how faith in Jesus offers forgiveness and new possibilities for former militants and at-risk youth.

YWAM’s mission in Barbados continues in response to lasting concerns about gangs and criminal influence among the island’s young people.

Reports confirm that criminal groups target vulnerable youth, while church leaders call for moral teaching and stronger family values as solutions grounded in Biblical principles.

“The statistics are really the faces and futures of too many of our sons, daughters and neighbors,” the Barbados Today editorial said.

Christian organizations and pastors are working together to restore hope and point young people back to God’s truth.

They remind believers of the power of faith, strong families, and freedom through Christ to transform communities.

Let us pray for Barbados’ youth and support ministries that champion faith, family, and freedom in the face of rising dangers.

God's Truth Prevails Amidst Growing Pressure on Family Sanctity Challenges

Faith Facts

  • President Trump endorsed bill prohibiting states from enforcing child gender transitions without parental consent.
  • Polls reveal 71% oppose puberty blockers or hormones for minors under 18.
  • 1987 SNL skit ridiculed routine infant gender surgeries as absurd mutilation.

In the 2026 State of the Union, President Trump spotlighted protecting children from radical gender procedures lacking family approval.

This aligns with God’s design in Genesis 1:27, affirming male and female creation.

Trump stated plainly during the address.

“We will protect our children from this radical ideology. No state will be allowed to take kids from loving parents and push them into irreversible procedures.”

Republicans rose in applause, but Democrats stayed seated, prompting Trump’s retort: “These people are crazy.”

Such division echoes Proverbs 22:6, urging parents to train children in godly ways against state interference.

California’s AB 1955 hides school transitions from families, defying majority sentiment.

Rasmussen polls show 58% reject all minor transition procedures, prioritizing innocence.

Once parody on SNL, today’s practices betray biblical family values and patriotic freedoms.

Defend God’s order for children; urge Congress to pass parental rights protections today.

Dark Trends in Religious Family Rights Challenge Believers' Resolve to Stand Firm

Faith Facts

  • Swedish Christian parents separated from daughters for nearly four years after state labeled faith-based rules on makeup and phones as “religious extremism.”
  • Daughter retracted accusations, no abuse found, but girls remain in foster homes despite desiring reunion and facing health issues.
  • European Court of Human Rights dismissed appeal, citing unexhausted Swedish remedies; authorities cited weekly church attendance as extremism evidence.

A Swedish couple’s nightmare continues as government overreach tears their family apart, punishing faithful parenting rooted in Christian values.

Daniel and Bianca Samson can visit their daughters only once monthly under supervision, even after clear investigations.

Swedish social services confirmed the parents’ fitness post-training, yet the state clings to its interference.

“Parents have the primary responsibility and right to raise their children. When the state interferes with family life based on values-based parenting choices or discrimination on the basis of faith, fundamental freedoms are at stake.”

“We deeply regret the court’s decision to reject this case, considering that this family has been torn apart for over three years despite a full investigation that cleared Mr. and Mrs. Samson of any abuse and the fact that the social services certified their capacity and fitness for parenting after they successfully completed an official training.”

“Families should be free to live according to their convictions without fear of losing their children to the state.”
