  • Right To Life UK reports 400 girls are missing due to sex-selective abortions in Britain.
  • Sex-selective abortion is illegal under British law, yet statistics reveal an imbalance in birth ratios within certain communities.
  • Christian voices are calling for legislative action and a defense of the unborn, particularly vulnerable girls.

The Right To Life UK group has highlighted a troubling trend.

It estimates that 400 girls are unaccounted for in Britain as a result of sex-selective abortion practices.

These findings come despite clear government statements that such procedures are illegal and cannot be tolerated under any circumstances.

The Department of Health and Social Care confirmed:

“Sex-selective abortion is illegal in England and Wales and will not be tolerated.”

“Sex is not a lawful ground for termination of pregnancy.”

However, some groups argue that the existing law is not explicit enough, leading to ongoing debates about what constitutes a legal abortion.

Right To Life UK analyzed birth statistics from 2017 to 2021.

They uncovered a significant gender imbalance in the Indian community after multiple births, suggesting sex-selective practices.

“It’s irresponsible for BPAS to publish advice suggesting that sex-selective abortion is not illegal, because it risks normalising sex-selective abortion and is likely encouraging abortions sought purely because of a baby’s sex,”

said Catherine Robinson, spokesperson for Right To Life UK.

She warned that vulnerable women may find it more difficult to stand against pressure from families.

This can happen when such advice is given credence.

As stewards of life, Christians must resolutely defend those most at risk and urge government officials to fulfill their duty in ending this injustice.

Let your voice be heard and join the effort to protect every precious child made in God’s image.
