Survey Uncovers Troubling Persistence of Low Biblical Worldviews, Igniting Calls for Revival

A nationwide survey reveals no spiritual awakening following the September 10, 2025, assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University.
George Barna’s Cultural Research Center found biblical worldview holders steady at 4%, down from 12% a quarter century ago.
“A quarter century ago, 12% of the adult population held a biblical worldview,” Barna said. “Since then, we have seen a steady reduction in that incidence. We reached a low point—4%—in 2023.”
Barna highlights ACU’s immersive environment transforming students into Integrated Disciples, 28 times more likely than peers.
Emergent Followers dropped to 10% from 25% in 2020, while 85% are World Citizens conflicting with Scripture.
“Make no mistake about it, we are losing American society… because we have succumbed to the influence of the culture instead of the exhortations and promises of God,” Barna warned.
“It is time to reclaim the culture for Christ… With just 1% of Gen Z exhibiting a biblical worldview, the ways of Christ are facing extinction in America unless we act today,” he urged.
