Faith Facts

  • ACNA Archbishop Stephen Wood is suspended from ministry for 60 days as an investigation into abuse allegations continues.
  • Church leaders emphasize the suspension does not imply guilt or innocence and is meant to aid the integrity of the process.
  • The Anglican Church in North America, founded in 2009, represents over 1,000 churches committed to biblical principles.

The Archbishop of the Anglican Church in North America, Stephen Wood, has been temporarily suspended from all ministry duties while an independent inquiry investigates serious allegations against him.

This 60-day suspension, announced by ACNA leadership, was supported by five senior bishops and is meant to uphold fairness and integrity as the process unfolds.

The Right Rev. Julian M. Dobbs clarified, “This action does not determine guilt or innocence, nor does it pre-judge any allegation or future proceeding.”

Members of the Standing Committee of the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina advocated for this step, stressing the need for a process free from interference so the truth may come to light.

Last month, an article raised concerns about Wood’s conduct as rector at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, bringing allegations of sexual misconduct and financial impropriety to the forefront of the investigation.

A formal complaint, supported by four presbyters and seven lay members, prompted a board of inquiry to review these claims thoroughly.

The Most Rev. Ray Sutton announced Wood’s voluntary leave and will oversee the archbishop’s responsibilities during this season of reflection for the ACNA.

Sutton encouraged believers to lift up the church and all involved in prayer, stating, “Let us keep in mind that God works all things together for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28).”

Founded in 2009, ACNA stands strong as a denomination built on fidelity to God’s Word, with a deep commitment to truth and justice as these events are prayerfully considered.

Let’s continue to pray for all affected and trust God’s wisdom to guide the church as it seeks to uphold faith, transparency, and accountability.

Refugee Allies Face Shifting Policies: Faith Calls for Hopeful Resolution

The Trump administration is reportedly considering a plan to resettle over 1,000 Afghan evacuees in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

These individuals, currently located at a base in Qatar, include former military interpreters and special operations personnel who aided American forces.

World Relief, an evangelical humanitarian organization, has expressed significant concern regarding this proposal.

They argue that moving these individuals to a conflict-torn region like the Congo fails to honor past promises of protection to those who risked their lives for our nation.

“To abandon them now — either to the Taliban forces whom they fled or to a separate country beset by war, conflict and extreme poverty — is morally wrong,”

Myal Greene, president of World Relief.

National security remains a cornerstone of the administration’s policy, particularly following security lapses during previous resettlement efforts.

Officials point to a 2022 Inspector General report highlighting tens of thousands of records with missing or inaccurate identity data among Afghan arrivals.

Senator Josh Hawley has previously voiced concerns about the lack of proper vetting for those admitted under previous leadership.

He emphasized that the government must remain accountable for knowing the backgrounds of those entering the interior of the United States.

State Department spokesperson Tommy Piggott noted that the current focus is on restoring accountability to the resettlement process.

The administration maintains that previous methods were irresponsible and failed to put the safety of the American people first.

Faith Facts

  • Scripture calls believers to seek justice and show compassion to those who have faithfully served alongside them in the cause of freedom.
  • Proverbs 3:27 reminds us not to withhold good from those to whom it is due when it is in our power to act.
  • Ensuring national security is a biblical function of government to protect its citizens and maintain civil order.

As the administration weighs security and stewardship, let us pray for wisdom for our leaders and for the safety of those who faithfully served our troops in the field.

God's Wisdom Unveils a Path to Financial Freedom and Hope

Saving for the future is a vital financial habit rooted in biblical wisdom and self-discipline.

King Solomon teaches that the wise man saves for the future, while the foolish man spends everything he earns.

Employers who offer 401(k) matches provide a significant blessing that strengthens a family’s long-term stability.

This stewardship allows believers to build the margin necessary to live, give, and serve without financial pressure.

“The wise man saves for the future, but the foolish man spends whatever he gets” (Proverbs 21:20 TLB).

Faith Facts

  • Scripture encourages us to observe the ant, which demonstrates wisdom by storing provisions during the summer harvest.
  • Establishing an emergency fund of one to three months of expenses provides the security needed to save consistently.
  • Automating retirement contributions removes the temptation to spend resources that should be set aside for future needs.

By choosing long-term peace over short-term pleasure, you honor God through faithful stewardship.

Every small sacrifice made today strengthens your ability to finish your race well and follow His calling.
